About The Band

Silenced by Law came together in Southern California in the early parts of '07 when Guitarist Thrasher first gave Vocalist/Bassist Rich a mini-lesson on how to play bass. Some jam sessions then followed until the duo started writing some new material comprised of riffs Thrasher had been playing around with for years but had never found a home for, combined with the thoughts and rants Rich had always wanted to express but never had an outlet for. Later that year, drummer Jersey Joe moved out to the area from his namesake New Jersey, and the band was formed.

The band name was derived from the individual members' fascination and contempt for censorship of speech that we have all been exposed to over the years. As the core songwriting team, Thrasher and Rich both contributed to lyrics and music as time progressed and their debut EP had six tracks showcasing their work ranging from heavy rock to experimental, dark melodies.
